It is extremely important to wear the appropriate clothing for work, as poor fitting or inappropriate clothing can make you uncomfortable and can also be a health and safety issue especially when working in the industrial sector of the workforce, as there are certain safety items such as hard hats, steel toe capped shoes or boots and high visibility vests or jackets that must be worn at all times in certain areas. If these items are not worn, and an accident occurs, then avoidable damage will be caused and any insurance claims will become invalid.

Clothes that are made specifically for the job in hand are much more durable than regular clothing. Many firms will provide work wear, such as hard wearing trousers and fleeces for warehouse workers. If clothes are too tight then this can restrict you in carrying out duties and you will be uncomfortable and can become too hot, but also if clothes are too loose then this can also be a problem as they may become caught in machinery or on warehouse racking, causing damage to the clothes, and even worse, an injury to yourself.
